Trying New Things

When I started working first shift I decided that if I was going to get any journaling done I'd better bring it with me. (I mostly keep the chair warm and struggle to stay awake, though I did dispatch help for someone stuck in an elevator this morning.) I wasn't going to haul the watercolors in with me, but I thought I would write and sketch things to be colored in later... turns out, I kinda like the pencils and pens the way they are, so my journal goes abruptly from crazy color-a-day and Ed Emberley-style animals to abstract black and white zentangles and pencil sketches. I never had any confidence in my drawing ability, being more of a ceramics/batik/stained glass/woodwork kind of girl, but I'm really enjoying it now- I think I'll keep it up!
